Biography
… My story began with an egg … Well, any Rune dragons’ story begins with an egg, and I’m no different from that. My parents and I lived by the docks in Silverport, the small port town that greets the eastern oceans to Eldemore's coastline. My parents, they loved me dearly and I loved them too (of course, I still do … But I’m a boy so if you expect me to admit it out loud and go and hug mama and papa all the time … Get a reality check, please). We’re a happy family, so I can’t complain about my childhood. Well, I’m still a child, so err … No matter, the earliest days of my life, so to speak. I often played with my papa by the docks and he allowed me to be quite close to the human men who worked there day in and day out. That’s why I’m not afraid of the humans. Well, the females are scary, but the men are nice.
“Papa, papa, what’s that thing?” one day a small human had come to the docks, he looked like a miniature of the human men. “I can tell it's human, but why is it so small?”
“It’s a child, just like you.” was the answer I got, it was enough.
“So he’s as old as me?” I asked with a smile.
“No, I think he’s a lot older than you, judging by his size.”
“Oh ... Okay,” I looked at him for a while, a new thing learned and observed. This world had some amazing things for sure, I still had a lot to learn.
Sometime after my first birthday I was allowed to play by myself and go wherever I wanted around the docks. That just comes to prove how awesome my papa and mama are, they know that I can’t stay put in one place for too long. From afar I saw a young human man, who was sitting and watching the ocean with a longing gaze. A tad shyly I made my way closer and closer to him, as silent as I could be.
“I know that you’re there and there’s no need to hide from me,” he said it just when I was about to sneak into hiding among some ropes beside him. Surprised I stopped and looked at him when he sent me a gaze with those purple eyes over his shoulder.
“You live around here, don’t you?” the young man asked when he turned to the ocean once more.
I was not allowed to speak to strangers, so I didn’t reply. Instead I slowly sat down beside him and followed his gaze towards the horizon where the water surface glittered, it pretended to be small pearls that seemed to play on the surface. I wanted to play with those pealrs too, sadly they were so far away. Much too far away. The young man appeared to not mind that I didn’t reply to his question; we sat there together in silence for quite some time and simply looked at the calm ocean.
“It won’t be long now,” the young man suddenly said. “Soon I’ll be out there somewhere. Finally …”
“Out there …?” I asked and lent him a quick glare before looking out on the ocean again, forgetting that I wasn't allowed to speak to him or any other stranger.
“I don’t know if I should be sad or happy that it’s finally my turn to travel around the world,” he said, still not paying much attention to me. “I won’t be seeing this place for I don’t know how long.”
“I want to,” I began to say, but stopped when I heard the familiar sound of papa behind us. Slowly I turned towards him and saw the quite worried look in my father’s eyes.
“That’s a little too close to the humans, son,” papa said. “Come.”
“But papa!” I complained and stood up, turning to him now. "He’s going somewhere soon. And I want … I want to …”
The words died out in my mouth, I couldn’t say it after all. My parents should know by now how much I loved to explore things and places.
“So your father doesn’t approve of you being here?” I was surprised to hear the young man say it, apparently papa was surprised too. Because he turned towards the young human again, looking at him with a plain gaze. “Don’t worry, I won’t harm your lad. My family happens to get along quite nicely with Runes of any and all kinds. Not to mention the Ancients as well. I believe it's in our blood.”
“You want to go with him, don’t you?” I looked at papa who slowly came closer to us.
“Yes,” I said, turning my gaze down, afraid to face him. “I … I want to see the rest of the world!”
“I know,” when I just was about to face papa again, he wrapped his wings around me. “You’re a big boy now … Just be careful.”
“So I can go with him?” I asked happily.
“As long as you don’t forget about us and remember to come back and see us sometimes between your adventures,” mama had landed on the docks beside us and she too wrapped her wings around me.
“I love you mama. I love you papa,” I whispered.
“We love you too, sweet little Nagaz,” they said when the let go of me and turned away.
“That was quite the sight just now,” the young man said when I turned to him again. “I take it that they just said ‘goodbye’ and gave you permission to travel the world too.”
“Yes, and I’m coming with you - even if you don’t want company,” I said and flew up into the sky before landing on the young man’s shoulder.
“Oh, I see,” the young man smiled and even though humans didn’t understand our language, he seemed to understand me nonetheless. “We’ll set sail tomorrow morning, finally …”
“Aye, sir,” I cast a gaze behind us to see if my parents still were there, but they were gone.
“The name’s Nathaniel O’Brien. Though you may call me Nath’iel just like everyone else does,” he said with a smile. “What may I call you?”
“Nagaz … Although my full name is Nagazdiel,” I said, smiling towards the young man.
Off to see the world, finally … My dream come true, a life suited perfectly fine for me ... Though I shall return, mama and papa. I love you so much!

Personality
Curious | Brave | Impulsive | Helpful to those he deems worthy | Mysterious
Nagazdiel is a very curious little lad. He’s very fascinated of the devices and other things humans create, so it’s not uncommon to find him sitting in the shadows somewhere and observing what humans use their odd devices and other things for. Other than that he’s also the kind of lads who immediately goes on small “adventure trips” as soon as he visits a new place. Like many others, he enjoys seeing new places.
Even though he’s not exactly the one who helps those who asks for help, he has a habit of helping those that he thinks deserve it. So it’s no use to come to him to ask for help and expect a huge smile saying “Of course, I’ll help you in any way I can!”. He will come to you if he deems you worthy of his help. However, once he has tasked himself with helping someone and gives his all to reach the goal he sets up for himself; nothing can stop him. Everyone likes to do a good job and make someone happy, that’s why he motivates himself more than what most would do. He likes to make a good impression on those he helps; one could say that he wants other to deem him as a little gentleman in one way or another. As soon as he puts it all into a task at hand he’ll stop for nothing until he has completed it. That’s how motivated he is; quitting is never an option.
He sees himself as a very brave little lad. After all, the young lads who believe in themselves often take it for granted that they’re brave if they dare to do things others wouldn’t even think about doing. There are very few things in this world that actually scares him, maybe because he likes most things in this world and deem them as interesting. He’s not afraid of being the little goofball that sneaks around the docks all day, he’s not afraid of being himself at all times. In his opinion that’s the same as being brave.
Nagazdiel has a habit of acting before he thinks things through. Maybe it is like that because he’s still a child or maybe it’s just the way he is; it’s hard to tell since he’s such a young little lad. He’s impulsive and seems to not be able to bear with the part of thinking about what may happen if he does certain things. It’s not until after he has acted that he stops to realize either his mistakes or if whatever he did was good. He enjoys putting the fishermen through trouble in the morning by playing jokes with their ships by moving or changing things when they don’t notice it. Though, in truth he doesn’t act as that because he’s mean; he just wants to have some fun with humans because he likes them. He has never intended to do them any harm or making them angry on purpose. Troubling them with his mischievous ways it just his way of playing because he’s not too fond of playing “normal” games with neither humans or other Runes.
He’s not the most talk-active lad at first sight, you would probably deem him as the quiet little lad sitting in the shadows and watching the world with a curious gaze. The reason to why he’s such a quiet lad most of the times is because he prefers speaking with those he has interest in speaking to. Unfortunately there are quite few who catch his interest enough to make him speak. Surely most can make him laugh or smile at any time when he’s causing troubles for others; but making him speak is on a whole different level. If he’s not interested in speaking to you he tends to just sit and watch you from afar; after all, he’s still curious about what you’re up to but not curious enough to start speaking.
Some would probably see him as quite the mysterious little fellow, or maybe even as a loner (depending on how you see it). The reason to that is mainly because he rarely lets anyone know exactly what he likes the most in the world, what he prefers over other things, etc. He simply doesn’t let just anyone know exactly who he is, because he has sides of himself that he prefers keeping to himself. That’s mainly because he deems some parts of himself as “bad”, as far as he’s aware other Mecha Sea Runes isn’t like him at all when it comes to that part of him.

The future and the past views
Nagaz sees his future with lots of light, same goes for his past. He loves his parents dearly and visits them as often he can in between his adventures; this to cherish what he had then, have now and will have tomorrow. He dreams about future adventures, though he stays mostly firmly in the "right now". As he believes it's important to live life to the fullest while he still can.
Philosophy on life and death
He knows Sahariel, he knows what may happen to him if he turns out living an unlived and unfulfilling life. Sometimes he envies the immortality his dear friend has, yet at the same time he can see the toll it takes to live on forever when everyone he loves is gone. So even though he'd love to stay with Sahariel forever, he still wishes for nothing more than to live a life where he takes every opportunity he can to live to the fullest.
He's still a child and has much to learn, thus he prefers not to look as far into the future where it's the end of his time. Yet he does it sometimes, since he's friends in an immortal being.

Quirks
♦ One of his behaviours (one of those he rarely tells anyone about) is the part of helping fishermen with protecting them. Though, this is a trait that he’s very ashamed of, he’s a proud Mecha Sea Rune after all; so it should only be natural for him to help the fishermen. But for some reason he doesn’t like it as much as he should. Surely it happens sometimes, but he prefers it much more to dive down in the oceans to discover the world that’s so different compared to the one above the surface. The world that holds so many mysteries that is yet to be discovered. Even Nagazdiel himself doesn’t believe in him ever “growing up” to be a true Mecha Sea Rune as they’re by nature. Even though he’s ashamed of his fascination of the unknown; it’s also one of his greatest interests that he wouldn’t give up even if someone threatened him to do so.
♦ Nagazdiel enjoys seaweed quite much; it’s the closest thing to “toys” in his world. He tends to pick them and twin them into hats or just balls that he plays around with for a while before leaving them to rot when he has lost interest in them (i.e. has seen something more interesting than playing with them).
♦ As it has been mentioned before; Nagazdiel deems himself as brave and thinks that he isn’t afraid of anything. In truth, that’s a small “lie”. He has always been afraid of human girls and human ladies. It’s those who always are the ones most exited to see him and often picks him up in order to play with him (or just to cuddle with him for a while). He doesn’t like to be picked up without wanting it and he doesn’t feel at ease when women are around him… They’re just… Scary…
♦ He’s often exploring shipwrecks because those are one of the things that he thinks is the most interesting things in the world. Tough, it’s not uncommon for him to by mistake get trapped in small spaces or rooms within them since he dares to go deep into their inner darkness during his explorations. When that happens he often just sits down and feel sorry for himself and the ship for a while until he decides to use the laser within his eyes to get out again. And when he uses them the ship often gets damaged, which is why he feels sorry for the ship to begin with.

Deeper knowledge about Sahariel
Darkest Secret ...
The reason behind his scare of human women, is his secret that no one knows. It's much too embarrassing to tell. At one point when he was very young, he stumbled by mistake into a room of a store near the docks. There were women all over the place, barely having any clothing and in a hurry to get changed. They screamed, for they didn't know what he was as he fell into a pile of clothing. When he managed to get out, those women attacked him. They threw shoes after him, tried hitting him with things. Until one realized what he was, instead everyone tried catching him to cuddle. Frightened he managed to flee, yet the incident left him with a fear for all human women ever after. They are truly frightening. One moment they try to hurt you, one moment after they want to hug you. Can they make up their minds?

Most treasured memory ...
A day out on the ocean when he and Nathaniel was diving, looking for treasures to bring back to port and sell. Every single one of those dives are precious to him, though this one in particular is different. They had found the most marvelous ship. It was almost completely intact and they found objects from an age long before their own. It was a true glimpse of the past. And in respect of the shipwreck and its fate, they left, leaving everything behind.

Good habits
He is always weary of strangers and will not speak nor interact with just anyone without observing them for a while first. Talents/skills/strenghts He's good at finding new paths into shipwrecks or sunken cities or tempels, and usually he has quite the good gut feeling if somethings worth bringing back to the surface or not. Hopes and dreams His greatest dream is to someday find an entire long lost civilisation and bring back its existence to light for the world to see. Best quality He can be very childish and playful since he's a child, but he can also be very responsible and mature at times. What he wants To live staying true to himself and live life to the fullest. Nagazdiel sees himself as ... Kind, brave, mischievous, adventurer and a good lad. Most valued possession His seaweed that he makes toys out of and has as toys. Along with a small wooden globe of the world with a map of every known land in Eldemore that he was given the first Yuletide he spent with the O'Briens. Most proud accomplishment He has done such many things he's proud of. Such as finding a nice treasure chest for Nilaihah to have his favourite bones in. Or such as giving Sahariel a half broken large bottle where his favourite spiders enjoy living in peace. Though out of it all, he's most proud of daring to leave his home and his parents. While at the same time never forgetting about them. Nor ever forgetting about visiting them ever so often. He loves his mama and papa deeply and would never want to leave them. Thus he always brings them his most favourite finding whenever he sees them, along with a seaweed creation of his. He is motivated by ... The thrill of starting a new adventure and closing the chapter of the previous one. |
Bad habits
Getting caught in fishing net like a fish when he's sleepy during his daily morning swims. It usually leads to him having to shew the net to get out or cutting it with his laser eyes. Weaknesses/clumsiness When he has nothing to do he usually simply runs around in circles, often bumping into things or tripping a lot. Fears and nightmares To get caught and never to be find if he goes too deeply into the depths of the oceans. Greatest flaw It's his personal belief, but he feels that the thing that is the most wrong with him, is his lack of feeling a need to help fishermen - and that he prefers playing tricks on them in the morning. What he doesn't want To have to live with a human woman other than Missouri whenever they're celebrating holidays with the whole O'Brien family. It would be worse than being caught in a cave. Others see Nagazdiel as ... Kind, adventurous, brave in some ways, playful and cheerful. Greatest failure He loves exploring shipwrecks, both with Nathaniel and alone. But one time he went too far. There was a cave that had caught his eye and he went there, curious what could lie beyond. Though as he had used his lasers to bring light in the cave, it had started to give in and collapse. He found a small cliff with air, but the rest of the cave was completely underwater. Desperate, he tried using his lasers to cut out from the top, to no avail, he went down through the tunnel he had come through earlier, trying to use his lasers underwater. Also to no avail. Defeated he returned to the cliff for air, tried not to panic. But as hours turned into days, he started crying as his belly started to rumble for food. He would most certainly die there, he thought. Until one day, he heard Sahariel's familiar voice in his head, calling out to him. He started to scream, making noises best he could. And soon Sahariel appeared. He was so happy to see his dear friend, hugged him and Sahariel went to get help. Soon he could hear the stones in the tunnel be moved out of the way and he went back into it, only to find Nath'iel who had managed to move them just enough for him to be free at last. |

Guide to the unknown |
The song of the lost Empire |
To see all the stories that you have been told,
places where legend and myth comes with truth. Gather your courage and follow me, let me be your guide to what you will see. Of course, beware, because I am like the ordinary youth, play you a fool and leave you alone. Remember the tale so old? The one from your past, the tale that disappeared so fast. I can show you its gold. As long as we are lone. I’m the eyes of secrets the ocean may hold, it is no lie, just let me lead the way. If you dare I shall take you there, to the ocean’s secrets anywhere. Of course, beware, we are always someone’s pray, it is now you shall keep a low tone. Stay by my side and you will feel my cold, unlike us those stories are vast, unlike us they were made to last. Loose yourself and await what is untold, your last coin has been thrown. So we are here, arrived, watch it all unfold, the dreams you held dear until now. Nothing of this will stay still for long, so watch it all now and hear its song. Take your farewells and bow, it is now we shall leave, just as foretold, because there is nothing here you may own. |
Within the darkness two pearls shines bright,
glittering and shimmering in their bluest pride. Somewhere in the depths there is silent sound, a silent song which caused the heart to pound. It whispers, it tells stories of old, tales of eternity ride, forgotten within this endless song. Few will remember it right, will you listen to this tale of mine? I promise it will be just fine. Let us return to our past, the past none has seen for so long. In these depths of this world filled with light, man thrived and strived to evolve, seeking the knowledge they couldn’t fully grasp, awaiting the future which they couldn’t clasp. All while finding myths to solve. This all while listening to a distant gong. I’m sure you have heard of the world that fight, the fight which with the wind whine. No one could see the frustrated sign. The darkness seemed unending and vast, and man could not see all that was wrong. A nation arose powerful of everlasting might. The world crumbled in fright so deep. None could oppose this people blessed by Gods, still many tried to stand tall against all odds. The whispers, it told the future in their sleep, kept telling the world to stand strong. That people, its isle home sure was a sight, their culture through the darkness would shine, yet unseen to us they barely survived, on-top of a thin line. Their King worried for how long it would last, while he carefully their reign tried to prolong. Unaware of the soon-to-be fright the people of the isle nation lived bold, not caring for the world around in their arrogance, prisoners in their selfish entrance. Blinded by their own needs and shining gold. They believed their dominance to be lifelong. With creations never seen before the nation’s warriors took flight, wagered war upon the entire world to keep their borders aline. They fought for so long and the Chronicler stories define. The world now had so many questions to be asked, for the time counted down to the ending bong. The world saw the glitter of hope through the night, that isle nation, Atlantis as it was called, had its weakness in those that wore the crown. In that weakness those living on the isle would drown, It whispers, the King for time stalled, while fighting against fear all along. On order by the King they flew, lead by the King’s Knight, people of the isle still wished to be above the tallest trine, to succeed, to prevail, to within legends entwine. After that everything in the battle happened so fast, and within fear the people of Atlantis throng. There, in the horizon, a flash of shining light so white, the war with that came to stop, to be still, Atlantean and stranger alike came to fear, when they all the wall of water could hear. The waves to the isle nation came, following the Gods will. Within the depths of the sea the city was cast, forgotten since then, where it was meant to belong. |
